NEWCASTLE UNITED
After being covered in steel for the last 30 years without proper ventilation, this Church was in danger of losing its spire.

The non-functional (sealed) louvres allowed moisture to build up, thereby damaging the bricks, mortar, structural lumber and rotting out the window frames.

The louvres were rebuilt with proper venting, the brickwork and lumber repaired, additional vents added to the spire, a newly restored stained glass window installed, and all of the trim given a fresh coat of paint.

This lack of proper ventilation is possibly the number one ailment affecting historical buildings - and over time does incredible damage.

Please see the VENTILATION section and contact us if you are interested in having your building assessed.
